Asahi Breweries to open new Tosu brewery in Saga from 2029, succeeding the Hakata plant

Asahi Group Holdings announced on 10 November 2023 that the start of operations at the new Asahi Breweries Tosu plant in Saga Prefecture would be postponed by about three years to 2029, because construction and equipment costs had risen sharply against the original plan set out in the February 2022 production and logistics restructuring. The Hakata plant in Fukuoka, which the new brewery succeeds, will keep operating longer as a result. The release states no investment amount or production capacity.
