JFE Engineering launches MOF-based CO2 capture demonstration at Clean Plaza Fujimi

JFE Engineering will conduct Japan's first demonstration of separating and recovering CO2 from actual waste-incineration flue gas using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The pilot will use the Clean Plaza Fujimi waste-treatment plant in Mitaka, Tokyo, and is scheduled to run through the end of FY2026, with recovery of several kilograms of CO2 per day.

Nippon Shikizai, a Japanese cosmetics ODM/OEM manufacturer, held the opening ceremony for its newly acquired Komoro factory in Nagano Prefecture. The facility handles filling, packaging and finishing for makeup products such as mascara and eye shadow, and began operations on September 3, 2026.

Goyo Foods completes new Karatsu frozen-cake factory

Okumura Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development start logistics facility at Hirano Station

Okumura Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development began construction of a new logistics facility in Hirano-kita, Hirano Ward, Osaka City, as part of a mixed-use development near JR Hirano Station. The facility is scheduled for completion in winter 2028 and will benefit from access to central Osaka and Osaka Nanko logistics hubs.

CRE completed the four-story LogiSquare Kyotanabe B multi-tenant logistics facility in Kyotanabe, Kyoto, on August 31, 2026. The 90,660.61 sqm facility can accommodate up to 12 tenants, offers 162 truck berths and 3,000 kW of high-voltage power, and forms a two-building project with adjacent LogiSquare Kyotanabe A totaling more than 240,000 sqm.

GS Yuasa to open domestic stationary energy storage system plant in Ibaraki

GS Yuasa will develop a new manufacturing plant for stationary energy storage systems in Ibaraki Prefecture under its Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry-approved battery supply security plan. The facility is scheduled to begin supply in October 2028, with production spanning domestically made lithium-ion battery cells through control systems.

INPEX to establish new energy R&D center in Kashiwa

INPEX will establish a new research and development center in the Kashiwanoha Campus area of Kashiwa, Chiba, to accelerate innovation in energy technologies. The center will include office and research space, an experimental building, and outdoor facilities, with construction planned to start in May 2027 and operations scheduled for April 2029.
