About the data
How often is the database updated?
We publish selected project records after reviewing source material. Updates are not real-time and we do not guarantee a publication deadline. Check the date and source on each record before relying on it.
Where does the data come from?
Our current collection policy prioritizes company-owned newsrooms, statutory disclosures and government publications. Some legacy records were collected under earlier source policies. Records can contain omissions or errors; coverage is not exhaustive.
Do you translate news from other media?
Our current pipeline does not collect trade or regional press as new sources. Legacy records may include earlier source types. We use company or official disclosures where available and review disputed records for correction or removal.
How accurate are the investment amounts?
We aim to extract disclosed amounts rather than estimate them. Automated checks support the process, but extraction, translation and historical records can contain errors. Missing fields remain possible. Verify a material figure against the issuer's disclosure before relying on it.
What does 'construction phase' mean?
Each project is tagged planned (announced, not yet started), construction (ground broken), or completed (operational). The phase reflects the status at the time of the source document.
A project is missing or has an error. Can I report it?
Yes, please — email japancapex@gmail.com. We review reported errors against source material and correct verified issues. Coverage suggestions are welcome.

What's included in the free plan?
Every published project record can be read in full without an account. The major-deal email digest is in preparation. Pro adds search, saved searches, weekday alerts and CSV export.
What does Pro add?
Full search across every project, saved searches with weekday alerts, and CSV export. $99/month or $990/year (two months free).
When will paid plans launch?
Eligible US businesses can start a Pro trial from the Pricing page. Published project records remain free to read without an account.
Can I use the data in my own reports?
Limited factual selections and excerpts may be used with JScope attribution under the Terms. Bulk redistribution or a substitute database requires permission. Attribution does not itself license third-party materials; original-source URLs are not included in exports.
Do you offer team or enterprise access?
Not yet — Pro is designed for individual professionals. If you need multiple seats or API access, email us and we'll factor it into the roadmap.
