JScope

What you get

Four things, done consistently every day

Coverage the headlines miss

Large-cap capex makes the English-language press. The mid-cap and regional deals — the ones that often move a stock or open a sales opportunity first — mostly don't. JScope covers them daily.

Structured, not just translated

Every entry carries the same investor-grade fields: company, ticker, sector, theme tags, location, investment amount, and construction phase. Compare projects, don't just read about them.

Search the way you work

Slice the database by region (where the money is landing), sector (semiconductors to food processing), or cross-cutting theme (AI infrastructure, EV batteries, reshoring).

English first, same day

The collection pipeline runs seven times a day in Japan time, so announcements reach you in English while they're still news — not weeks later, if ever.

Who it's for

Built for readers who act on capex information

Global equity investors

Capex announcements are leading indicators. Catch capacity expansions, new fabs and battery plants while they're still just a local announcement — before they show up in earnings.

Equipment & materials vendors

A new plant is a new customer. Know where construction is starting, who the contractor is, and what the site will need — before your competitors do.

Analysts & consultants

One consistent, citable, English-language database instead of dozens of scattered Japanese-language sites. Export what you need and drop it straight into your work.

About JScope

Why it exists

Japan is in the middle of its biggest investment wave in a generation. Semiconductor fabs in Kumamoto and Hokkaido, physical AI and robotics, AI data centers, battery plants, hydrogen and grid infrastructure — trillions of yen are being committed to building the next Japanese economy, and the people shaping the global technology landscape have taken notice.

“A once-in-a-generation opportunity for Japan.”— Jensen Huang, NVIDIA CEO, on physical AI (Tokyo, July 2026)

Almost all of it is announced in Japanese first — and much of it never reaches the English-language press at all. JScope closes that gap: one structured, English-language record of Japan's capital-expenditure projects, from the headline fabs to the regional deals nobody else is translating.
