Menicon to add three daily disposable contact-lens production lines at Kakamigahara Plant

Menicon plans to invest JPY 3.447 billion in production-line molds and related equipment at its Kakamigahara Plant in Kakamigahara, Gifu. The project will expand capacity by adding three production lines for daily disposable contact lenses; construction began in June 2023, while no completion date is disclosed.
Olympus has completed the new B Building at its Nagano site in Tatsuno, Nagano, consolidating development and manufacturing functions and establishing a production base for key medical-device components. Construction began in February 2025, with full operation targeted for FY2026; the building has 17,665 sqm of total floor area and a total construction cost of approximately ¥18 billion.
JGC Holdings completed the UT3 biopharmaceutical active pharmaceutical ingredient facility for Chugai Pharmaceutical Industry at its Utsunomiya plant in May 2026.
