SoftBank plans ¥886 billion investment in domestic network and AI infrastructure

SoftBank Group plans total investment of ¥886 billion from April 2026 through March 2027 in domestic base stations, network facilities, AI computing infrastructure, and AI data centers. The disclosed sites include SoftBank's headquarters in Minato, Tokyo, domestic base stations, and network centers.
Tatsuta Electric Wire, a JX Advanced Metals group company, is investing at its Kyoto Factory in Fukuchiyama to expand production capacity for water leakage detection systems used in AI data centers. The project includes additional manufacturing equipment and optimization of the existing building layout and workflow, with full-scale operation scheduled to begin at the end of August 2026.
Infini VAN, Inc. plans to construct a submarine cable landing station in Taguig, Philippines, to expand the international communications capacity it can provide in the country. The project is scheduled to start in July 2025 and be completed in December 2026, with total planned investment of ¥3 billion.
