Terms of Service
Version: 2026-09-27
1. Operator and scope
JScope is operated by TAKUTO BANDO, an individual sole proprietor based in Japan, at Plus One 402, 3-14-34 Kamiosaki, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 141-0021, Japan. Contact: japancapex@gmail.com. These Terms govern JScope Pro and the permitted use of JScope content. Effective date: September 27, 2026, upon publication of this version on the production service. The Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing; acknowledging it is not blanket consent to optional marketing or unrelated processing.
By expressly accepting these Terms and completing your subscription order, you enter a contract with the operator. If acting for an entity, you confirm authority to bind it. The order confirmation identifies the selected plan, currency, trial and renewal dates. Mandatory law prevails over any conflicting term.
2. Business eligibility and accounts
Pro is offered only to companies and independent professionals acting for business purposes and based in the United States. You must be at least 18 and legally able to contract. Do not register for personal consumer use or misrepresent your location, business or authority. Both the declared business country and payment billing country must be the United States. We may refuse or cancel an ineligible subscription and will address any charge made in error.
One Pro subscription authorizes one login for one designated individual acting for the subscribing business; it does not include shared credentials, team seats or an API. Keep credentials secure, maintain accurate account details and notify us of suspected unauthorized use. You remain responsible for authorized account activity; this does not exclude our responsibility for our own security failures.
3. Service and limitations
JScope provides structured English-language information about capital-investment projects. Public project pages may be read without a Pro subscription. Pro provides database search, saved searches, optional weekday search alerts and CSV export. Trial CSV export is limited to five successful export requests, subject to retry handling. Access also depends on subscription status and eligibility.
Records can contain missing fields, translation or extraction errors, historical information and later-revised plans. Coverage is selective, not exhaustive. Updates and alerts are not real-time and no publication deadline or uninterrupted availability is guaranteed. Source documents and facts should be independently verified before material decisions. Automated tools, including AI-assisted extraction or translation, may be used in preparing content. JScope is not affiliated with or endorsed by the companies described.
4. Information only; no individualized advice
JScope supplies general information. It does not provide personalized investment, securities, legal, tax or accounting advice, arrange trades, manage assets or recommend a purchase or sale. A ticker, project, filter or saved-search alert is not a recommendation or assessment of suitability. No investment performance or business outcome is promised. Seek qualified advice appropriate to your circumstances. These descriptions do not override the actual nature of any regulated activity or applicable law.
5. Content license and third-party rights
Subject to these Terms, you may read and analyze records for your business and download available CSV exports for internal analysis. You may include limited excerpts or factual selections in reports and presentations that contain your own substantive analysis, including client deliverables, with a clear attribution to JScope and the relevant JScope record URL and access date. Such use must not substitute for the database or disclose a substantial dataset.
Bulk republication, resale, sublicensing, public dataset hosting, automated harvesting outside an agreed interface, or building a substitute data service requires our prior written permission. Do not bypass authentication, access limits or export restrictions, introduce malware, disrupt the service, or infringe others' rights. These restrictions do not restrict independently obtained facts or rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Third parties retain their rights in their materials, names and trademarks. We grant only rights we are entitled to grant; attribution to JScope does not itself license underlying third-party expression or materials. Original-source URLs are internal reference fields and are not included in the current product export. Map data and tiles carry the attribution and licenses shown on the map.
6. Trial, prices and automatic renewal
The offered Pro price is USD 99 per month or USD 990 per year, billed in advance for the selected period. Any tax that we are required to collect must be disclosed in the order total before payment authorization; the order total controls. Your bank may charge its own foreign-exchange or transaction fees.
An offered 14-day trial requires a valid payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial-end time shown in your account or Checkout, the subscription automatically becomes paid and your payment method is charged for the selected plan. Thereafter it renews automatically each month or year until canceled. Authorizing Checkout authorizes these recurring charges. A reminder may be sent, but non-receipt does not extend the trial or replace cancellation. The trial-end timestamp, rather than your local calendar interpretation, determines the deadline.
7. Plan changes and price changes
You may request an available monthly/yearly change through Manage billing. The portal must show the effective date and any adjustment before you confirm; do not confirm an unclear change and contact support instead. A portal credit is not necessarily a cash refund. We will correct an erroneous charge.
We will notify you of an increase affecting an existing subscription at least 30 days before the renewal at which it takes effect, and provide an opportunity to cancel. No increase applies retroactively to a paid period. If required notice cannot be given before the next renewal, the increase is deferred. No multi-year price lock is included unless expressly agreed in your order.
8. Cancellation, refunds and service withdrawal
Cancel through your account's Manage billing link. A trial canceled before its end does not convert to a paid subscription. A paid subscription normally remains available until the end of the paid period, when renewal stops. Check the effective cancellation time shown in the portal and your account. If the portal is unavailable, send your request to the support contact with enough information to identify the account; we will honor a timely request once verified.
Ordinary cancellation does not automatically refund an already-started paid period. This does not exclude mandatory refund rights, refunds for duplicate or erroneous charges, or a remedy for our material failure to provide the service. If we discontinue paid service early for reasons other than your material breach, we will refund the unused prepaid portion. Contact support for a billing dispute; no contractual complaint deadline overrides a statutory right. Cancellation does not itself delete the account or all records.
You may instead request account closure and deletion from Account. This ends Pro access immediately and starts cancellation of outstanding subscriptions, rather than preserving access for the remaining paid period. Download needed invoices and exports first. Closure does not itself create a refund entitlement beyond the rights described above. If provider cancellation is delayed, we retry and investigate any unintended charge.
9. Failed payments, suspension and termination
Following a failed subscription payment, eligible accounts ordinarily retain Pro access for up to seven days from the first recorded payment failure. Access is then suspended until successful recovery. A subscription still unpaid after 30 days is scheduled for cancellation by our periodic billing process; processing may occur after the exact threshold. Required payments for services already supplied remain due, subject to any valid dispute.
We may restrict access to address a material breach, an ineligible account, fraud, security risk or a legal requirement. We will give an explanation and reasonable opportunity to remedy where practicable, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary. We will review a disputed suspension on request. On termination, live Pro access ends; previously obtained content may be retained only within the permitted license and applicable law.
10. Support, corrections and rights complaints
Send support, privacy, billing or content complaints to the contact identified above. For a correction or rights complaint, identify the JScope page, the disputed material, your basis and supporting evidence, and a reply address. Do not send unnecessary sensitive data. We may investigate, correct, annotate, restrict or remove material and will not treat a complaint alone as proof of infringement. Urgent legal and security issues are prioritized. There is no contractual uptime or response-time SLA unless separately agreed.
11. Responsibility and liability
We will exercise reasonable care in providing the service. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant that every record is complete, accurate, current or suitable for a particular decision. You are responsible for independent verification and for how you use the information.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost anticipated profit or investment opportunity. Our aggregate contractual liability for the service is limited to the fees paid or payable by you for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Refund obligations stated in these Terms are not reduced by that cap.
No exclusion or cap applies to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory data-protection rights remain intact. No clause transfers our own legal responsibility to you.
12. Changes, governing law and other terms
Material changes to these Terms will be notified in advance, normally at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes to paid rights will not retroactively reduce rights for an already-paid period. Where fresh agreement is required, we will obtain it rather than assume silence is consent. You may cancel renewal before a change applies. The accepted version remains available in our records.
These Terms and the subscription contract are governed by the laws of Japan, subject to any mandatory law that applies irrespective of this choice. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Summary Court, as appropriate to the claim. This does not prevent proceedings before another court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Mandatory protections applicable to either party are not displaced. We do not presently require arbitration or waive class-action rights.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue where legally possible. Neither party may transfer contractual obligations in a way that unlawfully reduces the other's rights. Delays caused by events reasonably outside a party's control do not excuse already-accrued payment or mandatory remedies. The English version is the contractual text; translations are aids unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
