Daiichi Sankyo Biotech to install new manufacturing equipment at Kitamoto plant

Daiichi Sankyo Biotech plans a JPY 46.53 billion investment in new pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment at its Kitamoto plant in Kitamoto, Saitama. Construction began in February 2024 and completion is scheduled for March 2028; the disclosure states that capacity will increase through the new installation.
Olympus has completed the new B Building at its Nagano site in Tatsuno, Nagano, consolidating development and manufacturing functions and establishing a production base for key medical-device components. Construction began in February 2025, with full operation targeted for FY2026; the building has 17,665 sqm of total floor area and a total construction cost of approximately ¥18 billion.
JGC Holdings completed the UT3 biopharmaceutical active pharmaceutical ingredient facility for Chugai Pharmaceutical Industry at its Utsunomiya plant in May 2026. The four-story facility supports clinical-trial manufacturing through initial commercial production and includes continuous-production capabilities, solar panels and other environmental features; it was handed over on May 14, 2026.
