Mitsubishi Materials to install oxygen production equipment at Naoshima Smelter

Mitsubishi Materials plans to install new oxygen production equipment at its Naoshima Smelter in Kagawa. The project has a total planned investment of ¥8.852 billion and is scheduled for completion in April 2027, increasing oxygen production capacity by 33,300 Nm3/h.
Hanwa established HANWA STEEL SERVICE TIJUANA, S.A. DE C.V. in Rosarito, Baja California, its second coil centre in Mexico, and began full operations in August 2026. The site covers 38,086 sqm with 9,420 sqm of buildings and cuts and sells thin steel sheet for the Tijuana-Mexicali border region, where manufacturers supplying the United States are concentrated. Coil-centre functions previously run from San Diego Vista Steel Service in the United States transfer to the new operation at the end of August 2026. No investment amount was disclosed.

Aichi Steel held the groundbreaking ceremony for a new forging plant at partner Vardhman Special Steels in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The plant will add a hot rolling mill line, with mass production targeted for FY2028; the investment amount was not disclosed.
