Sekisui Diagnostics to expand pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment at Kent headquarters plant

Sekisui Diagnostics (UK) Ltd. is investing JPY 2.638 billion in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment at its headquarters plant in Kent, United Kingdom. Construction began in July 2020 and completion is scheduled for October 2027; no post-completion capacity increase is disclosed.
Olympus has completed the new B Building at its Nagano site in Tatsuno, Nagano, consolidating development and manufacturing functions and establishing a production base for key medical-device components. Construction began in February 2025, with full operation targeted for FY2026; the building has 17,665 sqm of total floor area and a total construction cost of approximately ¥18 billion.
JGC Holdings completed the UT3 biopharmaceutical active pharmaceutical ingredient facility for Chugai Pharmaceutical Industry at its Utsunomiya plant in May 2026. The four-story facility supports clinical-trial manufacturing through initial commercial production and includes continuous-production capabilities, solar panels and other environmental features; it was handed over on May 14, 2026.
Lion has approved construction of a new pharmaceutical plant through its wholly owned Vietnamese subsidiary Merap Lion. The facility will produce prescription and over-the-counter solid-dose medicines, including tablets and granules, with operations planned to begin in the second half of 2030.
Tsumura will build a new QC building and hazardous-materials warehouse at its Ibaraki Plant in Ami, Ibaraki, to strengthen quality-testing capacity and business continuity for its kampo pharmaceutical products. Construction costs approximately ¥7 billion, designed and built by Kajima Corporation, with completion planned for mid-April 2028.
HOYA Lens Brazil plans to rationalize and expand manufacturing equipment for healthcare-related products at its Rio de Janeiro facility. The project is funded internally, with a total planned investment of JPY 1.027 billion; no construction schedule or capacity increase is disclosed.
