Sekisui Solar Film to build perovskite solar cell manufacturing facility at Sakai Plant

Sekisui Solar Film plans to install perovskite solar cell manufacturing equipment at its Sakai Plant in Sakai, Osaka. The project has a total planned investment of ¥90 billion, with construction scheduled from January 2025 through March 2028 and funding from internal funds, subsidies and borrowings.
PT Mulya Energi Lestari has started commercial operation of its 3.4 MW run-of-river Pungga small hydropower plant in North Sumatra, Indonesia. The facility supplies renewable electricity to Indonesia's state-owned utility PLN under a long-term power purchase agreement and is expected to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by 8,863 tCO2 annually; EnBio Holdings participates through its jointly managed investment vehicle Alamport Renewables.
Local Energy System, backed by Kumagai Gumi, Kiyomoto Iron Works and Shinsho Corporation, completed a black bark pellet manufacturing plant in Saijo, Ehime. The plant uses bark from sawmills to produce wood pellets and thermally processes them into black bark pellets for power-generation and industrial applications; trial operations will continue through September 2026, with commercial operations planned from October 2026.
Sekisui Chemical opened a design center in Shanghai in July 2026, operated by Sekisui Interlayer (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., to support automotive manufacturers with CMF design, simulations, sample production and prototype evaluation. The center combines the group's laminated-glass interlayer technology with Chinese mobility design trends and is intended to support development from concept through mass-production studies.
Intellect is responsible for the design and construction of the Togusa Solar Power Plant in Kikuyo, Kumamoto. A safety prayer ceremony was held on July 3, 2026, marking the start of construction; the project's capacity and investment amount were not disclosed.
Arata installed a self-consumption solar power generation system under a power purchase agreement at its Kyushu South Center logistics facility in Kagoshima. The system began operating in February 2026, with planned annual generation of 603,707 kWh and surplus electricity supplied to the surrounding area as CO2-free power.
