Instant noodle maker Acecook began construction of a new Kanto plant in Kawagoe, Saitama - a roughly ¥27bn investment covering land, building and equipment on a 78,166 sqm site. The plant will replace the company's existing Tokyo plant (also in Kawagoe) as the production base for mainstay brands including 'Super Cup' and 'Wakame Ramen', with an attached distribution center. Completion was targeted for December 2025 and production start for April 2026.

NTT Group partners to demonstrate data center waste-heat aquaculture system

IMT Engineering, NTT Docomo Business, NTT Green & Food, and Hibiya Engineering will begin a demonstration in October 2026 at an NTT Docomo Business data center, using recovered data center waste heat to warm a land-based vannamei shrimp farming system. Hibiya Engineering will design and install the waste-heat recovery and heat-supply equipment and connect it to the data center; the demonstration is scheduled to run through March 31, 2028.

Akuakultur Konawe Nusantara, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a whiteleg shrimp aquaculture facility in Polewali Village, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The facility is scheduled to start construction in August 2026, be completed by the end of May 2027, and begin shipments in July 2027, with planned annual production of approximately 1,300 tonnes and future expansion to approximately 4,000 tonnes.
