Hexa Energy Service to build 49.7MW grid-scale battery storage plant in Fukushima, secures long-term offtake with Tokyo Gas

Hexa Energy Service, a Japan-based unit of I Squared Capital, has signed a 20-year long-term offtake agreement with Tokyo Gas for a grid-scale battery storage facility it is developing in Fukushima Prefecture. Hexa will develop, own and maintain the facility while Tokyo Gas will operate it, trading in electricity markets; commercial operation is planned for FY2029.
