Hitachi Zosen Marine Engine to add ammonia fuel supply and storage equipment at Nagasu plant

Hitachi Zosen Marine Engine Co., Ltd. signed a location agreement with Nagasu Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, to install ammonia fuel supply equipment and ammonia storage tanks at its site, supporting production of next-generation zero-emission vessels including ammonia-fueled ships. The investment is approximately JPY 2.4 billion, with operations expected to begin sequentially from around April 2028 and about 15 new jobs planned.
Iino Kaiun completed construction of the 93,000 cubic meter LPG/ammonia Very Large Gas Carrier LUMI AURORA at Hanwha Ocean's Okpo shipyard in South Korea.
