Kobayashi Pharmaceutical starts operations at new Sendai pharmaceutical plant in Miyagi

Kobayashi Pharmaceutical's wholly-owned subsidiary Sendai Kobayashi Pharmaceutical has begun full operation of a new pharmaceutical plant at the Sendai Kita Core Industrial Park in Taiwa-cho, Miyagi Prefecture. The facility, built to PIC/S GMP international standards with an investment of about JPY 26 billion, will produce liquid bandages, eye drops, and topical anti-inflammatory products, with total annual capacity of about 35 million units across all products.

Olympus has completed the new B Building at its Nagano site in Tatsuno, Nagano, consolidating development and manufacturing functions and establishing a production base for key medical-device components. Construction began in February 2025, with full operation targeted for FY2026; the building has 17,665 sqm of total floor area and a total construction cost of approximately ¥18 billion.
JGC Holdings completed the UT3 biopharmaceutical active pharmaceutical ingredient facility for Chugai Pharmaceutical Industry at its Utsunomiya plant in May 2026.
