Kyoei Steel has increased total capex for its Vinton Steel LLC subsidiary in Texas from $327 million to $437 million, reflecting inflation, supply-chain cost pressures, and construction demand in the US. The project includes a new steelmaking facility (360,000 net tons/year capacity) and major renovation of the rolling mill, with construction commencing July 2026 and integrated production starting October 2027. This cornerstone North American facility will deploy world-first direct-cast billet welding-and-rolling technology.
