Nippon Parking Development and subsidiary Smart Green Energy completed Japan's first woody biomass power plant built on a former ski resort site in Katashina village, Gunma Prefecture. The facility, commissioned July 20, 2026, will supply electricity generated from local wood waste primarily to municipal public facilities, demonstrating a regional energy circulation and decarbonization model combining renewable energy with rural regeneration.
