Craft beer maker Yo-Ho Brewing (Karuizawa, Nagano) opened a new brewery in Izumisano, Osaka on July 23, with the full JPY 3.8 billion construction cost funded by furusato nozei (hometown tax) donations raised by the city. The facility, located in Rinku Town, is a unique case of a capex project financed entirely through crowdfunding-style local tax donations rather than corporate investment.

The facility is scheduled to start construction in August 2026, be completed by the end of May 2027, and begin shipments in July 2027, with planned annual production of approximately 1,300 tonnes and future expansion to approximately 4,000 tonnes.
