Hokkaido Electric Power sets August 2027 completion date for Tomari Nuclear Power Station seawall

Hokkaido Electric Power has determined the completion date of the seawall installation project at Tomari Nuclear Power Station to be August 2027. The project, which began in March 2024 as a tsunami countermeasure, involves a rock-anchored concrete and cement-stabilized soil structure with a height of 19.0 m above sea level, extending approximately 1,200 m. Total construction cost is disclosed as 106.7 billion yen.
