Nippon Chikudenchi Co., Ltd. signed a disaster-response agreement with Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, under which a grid-connected battery storage station it is installing in the city will supply emergency power during disasters. The facility has a planned rated capacity of about 8MWh (8,146kWh), enough to supply roughly 470 households for 72 hours in an emergency; the company plans to bring 70 such storage sites online nationwide by 2028.
