J-Holdings's consolidated subsidiary J-Crest will acquire a grid-scale battery energy storage facility (Shokawa ESS) located in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture from Recharge Power as part of a capital and business partnership to expand the grid-scale battery storage business. The 2MW/8MWh facility is planned to be completed and grid-connected in December 2026, with operational commencement and market participation expected in early 2027.

Denki no Eki starts construction of 16 MW battery storage facility in Isahaya

Denki no Eki, a joint venture backed by JR Kyushu and the Sumitomo Corporation Group, began preparatory construction of its third grid-scale battery storage facility in Isahaya, Nagasaki, in October 2026.
