Kobe Steel to invest ¥2.07 billion in aluminium sand casting at Daian works in Gifu

Kobe Steel will invest approximately ¥2.07 billion in its aluminium casting and forging plant at the Daian works in Mizunami, Gifu, reinforcing welding and finishing processes and introducing a sand-mould 3D printer and X-ray CT inspection. The equipment serves aluminium and magnesium sand-cast parts for aerospace and defence. Operation is planned for 2028.
Hanwa established HANWA STEEL SERVICE TIJUANA, S.A. DE C.V. in Rosarito, Baja California, its second coil centre in Mexico, and began full operations in August 2026. The site covers 38,086 sqm with 9,420 sqm of buildings and cuts and sells thin steel sheet for the Tijuana-Mexicali border region, where manufacturers supplying the United States are concentrated. Coil-centre functions previously run from San Diego Vista Steel Service in the United States transfer to the new operation at the end of August 2026. No investment amount was disclosed.

Aichi Steel held the groundbreaking ceremony for a new forging plant at partner Vardhman Special Steels in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The plant will add a hot rolling mill line, with mass production targeted for FY2028; the investment amount was not disclosed.
