Kawasaki Heavy Industries has begun construction of a steam methane reforming hydrogen production facility in the coastal area of Kawasaki, Kanagawa. Scheduled for completion in spring 2029, the plant will produce approximately 18 tonnes of high-purity hydrogen per day from city gas and supply it via a high-pressure hydrogen pipeline to the Kawasaki LH2 Terminal as part of a commercial liquefied-hydrogen supply-chain demonstration.
