Sumitomo Forestry subsidiary Home Eco Logistics began operations at the Atsugi DC, its first self-operated logistics facility, on August 6, 2026. Located within Nippon GLP's MARQ Tomei Atsugi logistics complex, the center consolidates housing-materials logistics for the group and building-material manufacturers, serving 15 prefectures across the Kanto and central Japan regions.
Kyowa Manufacturing's European subsidiary, Kyowa Europe, held an opening ceremony for a new factory in Sofia, Bulgaria, on July 16, 2026. Built on a new site as the company's second expansion in Bulgaria, the facility targets twice the previous production efficiency to meet growing demand for motorized rollers and control systems used in conveyor and logistics systems.
Neturen will install new cutting and marking equipment for its Double Stark high-strength rebar products at the Iwaki Plant in Iwaki, Fukushima. The equipment is expected to approximately double production capacity and begin operating in July 2027 to meet rising demand from logistics warehouses and data centers.
CULTA will establish new research and development facilities in Kashiwa, Chiba, and Tsukuba, Ibaraki, focused on climate-adapted crop breeding, cultivation technology and stable seedling supply. The facilities will include sunlight-powered and artificial-light plant factories, laboratories, cultivation research greenhouses and a nursery building, with operations scheduled to begin sequentially from September 2026.
Flower Communications announced that Ishikari Renewable Energy Data Center No. 1 began service on August 1, 2026, following construction completed on March 27, 2026 and fit-out work. The green data center in Ishikari operates on 100% renewable energy and supports water and liquid cooling in part of its six data-center sections, with an IOWN All-Photonics Network connection to Tokyo.
INTELLECT will develop a grid-scale battery storage facility in Kumamoto City's Kita Ward, using land owned by the BLD WEDDINGS group. The facility is planned to have approximately 2 MW of rated output and 8 MWh of storage capacity, with operations scheduled to begin in June 2027; INTELLECT will provide development, EPC and O&M services.
Ohkawa Corporation, an Alconix Group company, will build its third facility in Fukushima City to produce precision metal-processing components for aerospace and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The new plant is expected to more than double current production capacity and begin operations in the second half of FY2028.
Lintec will invest approximately ¥20 billion to build the Semiconductor Solution Lab in Itoshima, Fukuoka, a co-development site for process materials, direct materials and related equipment used in semiconductor mid-stage processes. Completion is planned for October 2028; a location agreement with Fukuoka Prefecture and the city is to be signed on 21 August 2026.
Daido Metal plans to invest approximately ¥4 billion by fiscal 2027 in a new plant building at its existing Mexico site, with production equipment to be added separately. The expansion is intended to increase output of generator-engine bearings used in data centers. Building work is planned to begin in autumn 2026 and production in 2028.
PowerX plans to begin mass production of its Mega Power 4000 battery systems in May 2027. The liquid-cooled LFP units provide up to 4,680 kWh per 20-foot container. In an August 13 production-plan update, the company added the series to the product mix of its Tamano headquarters factory and planned Tomakomai factory. The additional Tamano production line remains scheduled for January 2027, while the Tomakomai factory is now scheduled to open in July 2028. Planned annual capacity is 800 systems at each factory, across the stated product mix; this is not a capacity figure exclusively for Mega Power 4000.
Dentas' consolidated subsidiary Ionic will acquire a mass-production molding die for the renewed New KISSYOU ion toothbrush, strengthening product competitiveness and supporting sales expansion. The mold will be installed at Union Gosei's Nasushiobara plant in Tochigi, with operation scheduled to begin in November 2026.
Eku Energy Japan has completed delivery and installation of the major equipment, including 32 Tesla Megapack 2 XL battery systems, at the Hirohara Battery Storage Facility in Miyazaki, Miyazaki. Construction, equipment connection work and testing will continue toward planned operation in January 2027; Tokyo Gas will operate the facility under a 20-year offtake agreement.

Furukawa Electric will invest approximately JPY 100 billion in manufacturing equipment, land and buildings in the United States, Brazil, Japan and India to expand optical-fiber and rollable ribbon-cable production. The projects are scheduled to begin mass production sequentially from the second half of fiscal 2028, with rollable ribbon-cable capacity expected to approximately double from the end of fiscal 2025, driven by data-center and generative-AI demand.
MIRAIT ONE has installed a 20-foot water-cooled container data center at its Shinkiba building in Tokyo, equipped with Delta Electronics' Liquid-to-Air Coolant Distribution Unit (LTA CDU). The facility will validate high-performance GPU servers and IOWN-enabled next-generation AI infrastructure, with operations scheduled to begin from September 2026.
Nissin Foods will build the Tsukubamirai Factory in Ibaraki Prefecture as a dedicated Cup Noodles production facility. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2027, with operations planned to start during fiscal 2029; the factory will incorporate heat-recovery and reuse equipment to reduce manufacturing CO2 emissions by more than 10%.
Tokyu Land and Saitama Fukko developed and completed the ReENE Solar Farm Kumagaya agrivoltaic power plant in Kumagaya, Saitama, with operations beginning on April 1, 2026. The facility consolidates 35 agricultural parcels covering approximately 4 hectares, grows wheat beneath elevated solar panels, and supplies electricity to Tokyu Land-owned offices and commercial facilities through an off-site PPA.
Trusco Nakayama began full-scale operation of a 3D high-speed Skypod picking system at its new Planet Aichi logistics center in Kitanagoya, Aichi. The center began operations on May 18, 2026 and has approximately 89,162 sqm of floor space; the automation system supports higher-density storage, labor saving and faster picking for tools and other industrial supplies.
Daiwa Energy, a subsidiary of Daiwa House Industry, completed its largest-ever repowering project at the DREAM Solar Hyogo Toyooka solar power plant in Toyooka, Hyogo. The project replaced the existing solar panels and power conditioners, with first-year planned generation and electricity-sale revenue expected to increase by up to approximately 40%.

Kasumigaseki Capital has begun construction of LOGI FLAG TECH Miyoshi II, an automated frozen warehouse in Miyoshi, Saitama. The facility will include chilled and frozen storage areas, automated rack systems, natural-refrigerant equipment, and rooftop solar panels, with capacity for 21,846 pallets.
Mitsubishi Chemical has begun using electricity from a floating solar power facility installed at the regulating pond of its Hiroshima plant under an onsite power purchase agreement. Kyowalak Co., Ltd. installed, owns and operates the facility, which supplies part of the site's electricity without using the external transmission grid.
TAOKE ENERGY completed grid interconnection on July 31, 2026 for a new high-voltage battery storage facility in Mutsurecho, Tahara, Aichi. The facility has a rated output of 2 MW and storage capacity of 8.14 MWh, and is scheduled to enter Japan's primary reserve market in October 2026.
Kohsoku, a Japanese logistics company, will open its Toyama sales office in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture in August 2026. The 806 sqm facility will be the company's second sales base in the Hokuriku region (after Kanazawa) and will expand the company's logistics network from 54 to 55 nationwide locations.
Kyoei Steel revised the planned investment in Vinton Steel's Texas melt shop and rolling-mill upgrade from $327 million to $437 million, citing higher material, logistics and construction costs. The new melt shop is planned for 360,000 net tons a year. Construction started in July 2026; melt-shop operations are targeted for July 2027 and integrated commercial production for October 2027. The company describes its planned direct billet transfer welding and rolling process as a world first.
Mitsubishi Materials will invest approximately EUR 50 million to expand tungsten scrap processing capacity at H.C. Starck's flagship Goslar, Germany facility from 5,000 tonnes/year to 7,000 tonnes/year. New equipment construction will begin in 2026 and be completed in 2028. Post-investment, the facility is expected to source virtually all its tungsten feedstock from recycled material, strengthening Europe's critical minerals supply chain resilience.
RENOVA's project company R.Six Energy Storage LLC signed a project financing agreement with Mizuho Bank for a 99.9 MW / 280 MWh grid-scale battery storage facility in Ukari, Fukuroi, Shizuoka Prefecture. The loan is about JPY7.2 billion; the total project cost is not disclosed. Construction is scheduled for FY2026 with commercial operation in FY2029. It is RENOVA's second storage project to reach project financing, taking its operating and under-construction storage capacity to 452 MW.
Seal Engineering, a subsidiary of listed Remix Point (3825), has developed a grid-scale battery storage facility in Ogano, Chichibu District, Saitama, which partner Fit Founder has sold to a customer company. The 2MW/8MWh facility is planned to begin operation in January 2027 and will support renewable energy integration and grid stability in Japan's energy transition.
Ashiya City is advancing a redevelopment project in the JR Ashiya Station South District, targeting September 2026 groundbreaking with completion in August 2030. Tokyu Land is participating as the specified builder, with Taikensetsu handling basic and detailed design. The project includes an 11-story, 2-basement mixed-use building with 51 residential units, retail, offices, dining, and public facilities including a library function and citizen activity center on the third floor.
Tokyu Real Estate is planning a wind power generation project in the Atsuta district of Ishikari City, Hokkaido, with a planned output of up to 64,500 kW. The project is undergoing statutory environmental impact assessment; the preparation document (junbisho) was published in March 2026 and a public hearing was held on July 31, 2026.
The Higashi-Kanamachi 1-chome West District Urban Redevelopment Association is proceeding with Phase II of a major mixed-use redevelopment in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, per Katsushika Ward's own project page. Phase II construction is scheduled to start in FY2026 and complete in October 2030; Phase I (completed 2025) included a 40-story, 900-unit residential and commercial tower.
Hokkaido Electric Power says it aims to complete the Tomari Nuclear Power Station seawall in August 2027. Construction began on March 28, 2024. The tsunami-protection structure is designed to reach 19.0 m above sea level and extend approximately 1,200 m. The company disclosed an approximate total construction cost of ¥180 billion, comprising ¥70 billion of preparation work and ¥110 billion of installation work, and said the effect of the revised schedule on cost remains under review.
